The Beginning of a New Hobby

As someone who is attracted to art, I have been hesitating to give watercolor painting a go. The last time I did anything with watercolor was way back when I was still in grade school. At that time, I decided it wasn't for me since all I managed to make turned into a sloppy mess.

Fast forward to 2020, I have developed interest in watercolor and have slowly accumulated books about the subject. It started with the books and then followed the pans of paint, brushes and paper. In no time, I suddenly had a little hoard and could now bravely start "having fun" with the basic techniques.

The "having fun" part did not happen immediately though since I was busy preparing to repatriate after experiencing a devastating divorce. I was supposed to fly home March 2020 but that was cancelled due to the 2019 novel Corona virus pandemic. Homeless, jobless and trapped, I was stressed and devastated. Thankfully, I have family here in Denmark and am graciously being homed by my aunt in the meantime.

Left with nothing to do and unable to work, not because I will not nor can not but due to the law that forbids me from working, I started to watch YouTube videos about watercolor. It became a therapeutic activity because it was a way for me to fill my days and feel productive by doing so.

Armed with a luggage bag filled with books, paper, paint and brushes, I took my baby steps into getting to know the stuff that I blindly bought early this year. This is where my little watercolor adventure begins.
